aguni island - advanced/exp.

General description

Aguni season happen every year between May and July. The pre-booking start in February and spots runs out real quickly. On this dive site we will testify and big event - The Jackfish Tornado. The big-eyed trevally or Jackfish get together for the matting season at the same time that the oceanic current Kuroshio start to blow bringing a lot of nutrients. Not only the Jackfish can be spotted but also Napoleon fish, Giant Parrot fish, Grey reef shark and big tunas. It´s a pretty impressive event and it totally worth the early wake up and long journey to Aguni island.

Diving operation

That is a really early departure!  We will meet at Naha close to Tomari Warf at 4:45am. The boat leave the port 5:30am sharp. We will remain onboard during the whole day and there will be a lunch interval before the last dive. If everything goes as scheduled we may be back at the port around 3pm.

What to bring

Be ready for a day trip. We recommend to bring a towel, warm clothes for cold days, sunglasses and sunscreen (prefer the ones reef-safe). Onboard there will be hot tea available, hot water for cup noodles, and cooler box to store your food. Prefer light food to avoid get seasick and prepare some pill could be really helpful when the ocean is not calm.
