cape hedo - advanced

General description

This dive site is located on the  very north of Okinawa. Here you will perform a cave dive at the Hedo Dome, which is a huge limestone cave formed millions of years ago when the volcanic eruptions still actively creating this Japanese paradise. Out of the cave the drift dives will revel other features of this volcanic activity such as layers of magma that creates big walls, massive pinnacle create lava flow and shaped by currents, canyons looking formations and due to the fertile soil outstanding coral formations.

Diving operation

The site is located far north so you will need to wake up really early to get there. The meeting time is 6:45am at the port and we usually head north for 3 dives to worth the trip, each dive up to 45 minutes including safety stop. The boat will head back to the port between the dives and after the third dive we set up to head back around 2pm.

What to bring

For a full day dive we recommend to bring water, snacks, a towel, sunglasses and sunscreen (prefer the ones reef-safe). Also bring some change as it will not be allowed to sit on car with wetsuits or wet clothes. There will always be a cooler box available for your food and drinks.
